How often should I have a check-up and clean?
Most people benefit from a check-up and clean every six months. This regular schedule helps us catch small issues early, keep plaque and tartar under control, and maintain healthy teeth and gums. However, some people might need more frequent visits depending on their oral health.
We’ll let you know what schedule makes sense for you based on your individual situation. If you’ve avoided the dentist for a while, that’s okay. We’re here when you’re ready, and we’ll work out a plan that suits you.
Will my appointment be painful?
A routine check-up and clean shouldn’t be painful. We’re examining your teeth and gums and removing buildup, not performing invasive procedures. You might feel some pressure or scraping sensations, and your gums might feel a bit tender if you have inflammation or it’s been a while since your last visit.
If you’re feeling anxious or have concerns about discomfort, please let us know. We can take breaks whenever you need, and we’ll always explain what we’re doing before we do it.

Your appointment includes a thorough examination of your teeth, gums, jaw joints, and overall oral health. We’ll also screen for oral cancer and assess your bite. If needed, we’ll take digital X-rays to see what’s happening beneath the surface.
The professional clean includes removing plaque and tartar, cleaning below the gum line and between teeth, polishing to remove surface stains, and fluoride treatment to strengthen enamel. We’ll discuss our findings with you and create a clear treatment plan if you need any follow-up care.
